김순임은 각 지역의 자연과 그로 인한 사람의 이야기에 관심이 있다. Weaver(직조자)로서 공간과 공간, 공간과 사람, 자연과 자연으로서의 사람을 관찰하고 연결하고 시각화 하여, 발견된 이야기들을 지역 특유의 자연 오브제 및 공간과 엮어 설치, 조각, 영상, 사진, 퍼포먼스, 드로잉 등의 다양한 방식으로의 표현을 실험하고 있다. 이를 아시아와 유럽, 미국 대륙까지 다양한 국가에서 중요한 기획전과 비엔날레에 출품해 자신만의 표현방식을 선보인 바 있다.
석사와 학사를 이화여자대학교에서 조소전공으로 졸업하였고, 2007년 이후 27회의 개인전과 2002년 이후 320여회의 기획, 그룹전을 통해 작업을 발표하였다. 최근 서울 은평구 삼각산금암미술관에서 개인전 <흐르는 공간>으로 자연과 공간, 사람에 대한 설치작업을 발표하였으며, 청주시립대청호미술관 기획의 대청호 환경미술제 _물의 시간에서 장소특정적현장작업을 하였다. 최근 한국문화예술위원회 2022-2023 아르코 <작가조사-연구-비평> 작가로 선정되어 발간작업이 진행되고 있다. 현재 인선에 살고 여러 지역을 떠돌며 작업하고 있다.
Soonim is a nature player and visual artist who interpret people and regions that she encounters in her life through subjective methods. Sculpture, installation, painting, performance, video recording, and site-specific art are applied to her works. She has been invited exhibit in important exhibitions and biennales in various countries, including Asia, Europe, and the America continent, to Project her own way of expression.
Kim Soonim (b. 1975, Punggi, Sobaek Mountain area, South Korea) received MFA(2007) and BFA(2002) in Sculpture from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul. She exhibited her work in many various country and city of Asia, Europe, Africa and America by her own style from 23 times solo shows and about 200 Group exhibitions since 2002. Recentely She presented installations photos and videos about nature, space, and people in her solo exhibition <Streamy Space> at Samgaksan Geumam Art Museum, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, and did Site-specific Land Art work at Daecheongho Environmental Art Festival_ Time of Water, planned by Cheongju Daecheongho Art Museum.
Recently, 2022-2023 Arko (Korean Cultural Council) has been selected as a Artist for <Artist Research -Study -Criticism> and is preparing for publication.
Cuttently, she lives in Incheon Korea and work on Nomad.
