빨래터에 뜬 달 Moon on Lavoir

_Artist note

‘Lavoir’는 ‘프랑스 Due en-Anjou la Fontaine의 오래된 빨래터이다. 마을 가장 중앙의 낮은 곳의 금남의 장소, 모든 마을여성들이 모여 소통하며 가족의 옷을 깨끗이 하던 곳. 이제는 아무도 여기에 빨래하러 오지 않지만, 이곳에서 처음 흰 대리석바닥이 드 러나도록 그녀들처럼 오래된 빨래터의 바닥을 닦아 달을 만든다.

Lavoir is an old washing area in Doué-la-Fontaine, France. This spot, located at the lowest point in the center of the village, was traditionally off-limits to men. It was a place where the village’s women used to gather, chat, and wash their families’ clothes. Today, no one goes there to wash clothes, but when the artist wiped the ground of this old washing area to reveal its white marble floor for the first time, she created a moon.

김순임은 9월12일 극장에서 작가의 공개프리젠테이션을 위해 작품을 만들기위해 마 을의 라봐르(Lavoir)를 선택했다.

바다였던 땅, 그 마을 중심에 이곳의 여자들의 공간이 숨어있었습니다. 이제는 보이지 않는 오래된 이야기들 이 초록아래로 감추어져 있었습니다. 그녀들이 하던 방식대로 빨래터에서 그곳을 닦아, 그곳의 원래색이 드러나게 하여 빛을 만들어 봅니다. 공간과 의 만남을 시작으로 작가의 시간과 노동과 정성, 공간과의 마찰로 이루어진 빛은 달입 니다. (글로벌 노마딕아트프로젝트 유럽 도록에서 발췌)

Kim Soonim chose the “Lavoir(historic washingplace) of the town to make her work, visible for the public presentation of artists at the Theater on September 12 2017.

There was a place for all the women in the center of the village. Un-Known ancient stories are hidden under the green of the “lavoir”. I met this space and I gave my time, labor, and sincerity.
